The transformation of 39 Hunter Street has been guided by the three primary design strategies of: context, heritage conservation, and a premium quality workplace.

The context of the building and its place within the streetscape has been carefully considered. The access to natural light has been maximized through the stunning new atrium. Heritage conservation has played a particularly vital role, with the re-instatement and renovations planned to reveal and celebrate the original character of the building.

As some indication of the level of the owner’s commitment to both the environmental sustainability and to the well-being of the building’s occupants, the building works has been carried out to a standard necessary to achieve a 6 Star Australian Building Greenhouse Rating (ABGR) and a minimum 5 Star Green Star Rating (Design) from the Green Building Council of Australia.

Layouts, services and circulation systems have been designed to respond to the changing needs of the modern workplace—offering greater flexibility, high quality office space, and, refreshingly, a real connection with the natural environment to provide a superior and vibrant business setting.
